Euronics – Teknosa: Cooperation in Turkey

With the effect of the 1st of October 2012, the leading retail organisation in Turkey –Teknosa - will join EURONICS International, the biggest European buying group in the consumer electronic market. Following the press conference which was held today in Istanbul, Euronics International President Hans Carpels said that “Thanks to the powerful business model of Teknosa and its successful management staff, Teknosa, by making a big progress in the shortest time, became an extremely strong market player in the consumer electronic business and the first address coming to mind”. Mr. Haluk Dincer, President of Sabanci Holding Group said “It is the shining star of the Turkish economy and especially of the retail sector in Europe. Teknosa that is the ultimate leader of the electronic retail sales sector of Turkey was invited to the European club.”
Teknosa General Director Mehmet T. Nane added ‘’Since its establishment in 2000, Teknosa became a leader in the Turkish market, bringing technology to consumers with its current 280 stores in 75 cities in Turkey’’. Under the scope of its ‘Technology for everybody’ philosophy, Teknosa’s store investments continue at great speed.
With an annual turnover of close to 750 mln EUR (2011), Teknosa contributes significantly to EURONICS International’s total revenue.
Euronics International’s Managing Director Klaus Lahrmann stated “Next to other benefits, this agreement with Teknosa allows Euronics to familiarize with Turkish culture and business life, and opens the door for further cooperation with other potential markets in the region in the future.”
